Mary Hurrell

Born in South Africa and currently based in London, Mary Hurrell is an interdisciplinary artist working across performance, sound and sculpture. She explores forms of language and movement in relation to physical and psychological states. She has exhibited internationally including recent performances and exhibitions at Cafe OTO, London (2018), Movement Study 6 (Maxxinna), The Bower, London, (2018), ちょう¬, Yamakiwa Gallery, Japan (2018), 3 (OXIORCAD), Flat Time House, London (2018), 2 (AERIAL), Kunstraum, London (2018); 1 (Pitch), organised by Fluent at Centro Botin, Spain (2018); StereoSkin, Herdubreid Biosal, Iceland (2017); Movement Study 5 (Pearlex), David Roberts Art Foundation, London (2016); EROTIC MECHANICS, 10 Martello Street, London, (2016).

Mary Hurrell will present a new site-specific commission in two parts for the bodies of water at Jupiter Artland. Part one will take place on 27 July as part of Edinburgh Art Festival’s opening weekend, and part two will be performed at Jupiter Rising on 24 August, coinciding with EAF’s closing weekend.
