Amir George

Amir George is a Chicago-based filmmaker and curator. Through his short films, George navigates the complexities of life and creates spiritual stories that juxtapose sound, music and image into an experience of non-linear perception.

George's films have screened at institutions and film festivals including Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, Institute of Contemporary Arts, London, Anthology Film Archives, Glasgow School of Art, The Museum of Contemporary Arts Chicago, Ann Arbor Film Festival, Trinidad and Tobago International Film Festival, BlackStar Film Festival, Afrikana Film Festival, and Chicago Underground Film Festival, among others.

George has curated exhibitions at Transmission Gallery, Glasgow, and Silent Funny, Chicago. In addition to founding The Cinema Culture, George is the co-founder of Black Radical Imagination, a touring experimental short film series produced in collaboration with Erin Christovale.
