Ain Bailey

Ain Bailey is a DJ and sound artist based in London. Often in collaboration with others, Bailey creates electroacoustic compositions for a variety of forms, including multichannel and mixed media installations, moving image soundtracks, live performance and dance.

Her current practice explores sonic autobiographies, or the role that sound plays in identity formation. During a recent month-long residency at ICA, London, Bailey produced three events; a club night, a performance, and a sonic round table. Each event focused on a different approach to sharing music in a group, and explored the relationships between individual and collective listening.

Bailey has exhibited and performed both nationally and internationally. Her collaboration with the artist Sonia Boyce ‘Oh Adelaide’ (2010) has been presented at Tate Britain, Whitechapel Gallery, London and The Kitchen, New York. In 2017, Bailey collaborated with Gaylene Gould on the creation of a Sonic Trail for Tate Britain. She also performed at the 2017 Serpentine Marathon Guest, Ghost, Host: Machine!.

Ain Bailey will present a new work at Jupiter Rising, co-commissioned with Supernormal.
